Hi, I'm Erica Lane with Expert Village talking about how to write a Christmas song on the guitar. So the second part of what I was talking about is far as chording the verses and the chorus to each other. In my particular song I'm talking about Old St. Nicholas, in verse two I said "Oh St. Nicholas your prayers are not in vein the children love they give you give and they all know your name." So I'm bringing up the fact that St. Nicholas is known for his gift giving and that is also why modern day has turned him into now we know as Santa Clause. We still use the practice of gift giving as a very large part of the Christmas spirit, father Christmas you have shown us the life is worth the living to give in Jesus name. Now I brought Jesus in there because again obviously the Christ child is the center of Christmas season and if you are writing something that is sacred and you even want to combine it with the whole Santa Claus theory you can actually put them together. Because St. Nicholas himself was a representative of Christ we was a Christian and he did give gifts for that reason. So you want to get a good story line and make sure that you relate it to another story line if you wish. If you don't want to tell a story and then just simply talk about the Christmas season, about what is happening around your family, friends there are so many different things to write about. But that is just one example of the way I construct the particular song.
