Hi, I'm Erica Lane with Expert Village talking about how to write a Christmas song on the guitar. What you want to look for is certain type of Christmas songs that you like in order to inspire you to write your own Christmas music. So what you want to do actually is research older Christmas songs to your own liking whether they are up beat or slower. Whether they are more of a ballet or inspirational or simply just fun so I have a sample of some songs here that I like. One of them was We Wish You a Merry Christmas which is pretty lively song and another one was Old Lang Zine. It's a very traditional Christmas song that was actually featured in the movie It's a Wonder Life, and that is how I came to like that song. So if it's a song that is familiar to you that you remember from seeing a movie or hearing on a soundtrack or on the radio. Then you want to take those styles that you have grown to love and incorporate that into your creative mood so you can write a song successfully.
