On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Rodney Lopez and I'm Amelia Maldonado. We're here at Dance Manhattan Studios here in New York City, and we're teaching you bachata. Now that you know how to do your basic steps, we need to talk about an underarm turn in the dance. We'll start with the lady's underarm turn. Ladies, you're going to do a figure that we'll call full right full left. You're going to do a right turn and then a left turn to come back. Gentlemen, you're going to raise your left hand. While you're doing the basic step, the lady is going to go underneath the bridge of her arm and then come back the same way she came. While I'm going to left, Amelia is going to do an underarm to the right. 1, 2, 3, 4. Notice that I traveled with her as she did that turn. I'm going to go back on 5, 6, 7, 8, and I'm going to bring my left hand across her face to get her back to the original position. 5, 6, 7, 8. Gentlemen, notice that I'm using my left hand for this turn and I'm not using my thumb. My thumb is sort off her hand a little bit. My fingertips are rotating inside of hers allowing her to the walk. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
