The process you demonstrate is helpful. The last stage of securing the old work box in the drywall had been one sometimes of consternation for me. I used to use a drywall hand saw and even tried a jigsaw, but after a few slips and ending up with crooked holes or oversized holes I shifted to using installation guide templates from cutzout.com to guide my spiral saw. Now I feel more confident when I need to install a retrofit box in a finished wall since I don't have to worry about damaging the paint and I know that the hole will be the right size and the drywall will be unbroken or weakened around the hole. oldhandyman

She also forgot to mention the code book rule of 6" left at the box. The advice she leaves in her wire stripping video is disturbing.

Installing an Electrical Outlet Box

Hi I am Drew Fendy, master home inspector. I have been inspecting for over 24 years. Today we are going to describe how to install an electrical receptacle for Expertvillage.com. Installing the box, you got these wings that come up, you lock it in. When the box is all the way in, you turn the screwdriver and come up and stop and as I tighten the screws, it draws it forward bring the box in so you end up in the wall hold it perfectly tight inside. As you run the wires in they tend to go in and hit the back wall. So what you do is, you bend it a little bit this way, push some more bend it a little bit this way. What I have got to do is bend the wires inside so they will come out in front, it is much easier so, lets work those wires in. See they are coming out in the front now and we are all done, when this in here we need these wires to hang out a good six inches out of the box so you have room to work with this one. These look really good, you have the service area here, we will fit the box back in from where those flaps are going to come up as we will scroll them in and that will hold the box very firmly in the wall. So, obviously we got to hold the tab to get it in and so we have got there now. I like a power screwdriver this can go much quicker. We put right on the screw… now there is another chance we are going to play in the outlet, make sure we get as vertical as possible, use a level if you have to if your eyes are not really good. We screw this end and that will tighten up the tabs. It still a little loose. Okay, that box now is in there tight. I got those tabs tightened up and so you have a nice firm base to work with.
