Hi! My name is Matthew Christian from Tampa, Florida and on behalf of Expert Village, we are going to talk about improper use of a hammer drill. Again, we are talking about a hammer drill today and again, hammer drills are primarily used for drilling through concrete and to demonstrate for all practical purposes, we are going to going use standard brick. We are going to show how rather easily drill will drill through concrete or brick. Again, I can't stress safety enough but it is recommended that you use ear plugs and safety glasses. We are going to lead our drill into the high speed or high gear. We are going to set it for hammer and we have a concrete bit securely in place. Now we will locate where we want to drill, place the drill bit down, pull the trigger and begin to drill. One thing I would like to point out is once you have gone approximately half-way through the desired depth, I recommend while the drill is running pull the bit out to clear any debris and start again. That's it. Now you've drilled your hole and you are ready to fasten whatever it is you were drilling for.
