How to Make a Schematic for Your Electronic Circuit Project

Hello! This is Ross on behalf of expertvillage.com. Designing the circuit first thing you will make a schematic. So for this garage door open indicator I guess I could call it GDOIP for short or draw a schematic and in this schematic we want to show other connecting components that I believe will work. So I will have this resistor. I will have a diode, we will use the diode in several vehicle flashlight bulb or some draws less power it will last longer. Diode going to have voltage on here and there is a resistor per resistance to protect in to limit the current so that it doesn’t burn out the LED. So I think it might be a good idea to switch on it. As a matter of fact I have to have a switch because I have to detect if the garage door is open or not. Someone has some type of switch in here and when the garage door is closed you can connect. Now go ahead and prototype it, get my LED you will find the cathode on it. There is the cathode, it’s the flat side so I will put this down towards the more negative side and put the resistor in and apply power to it up there and apply power down here. I will turn on my power supply and the LED lights, that’s 12 volts I am set for over here and I will set my power supply to 9 now because I might want to use like a transistor battery instead so I am going to power supply up there running all the time. So I will try use this battery that has a nine volts how bright it is this. Now, looks pretty good so now can have that just sitting up in the house and be able to tell if the garage door is open, but I don’t have my switch in here well then go ahead and hook up the switch to it. I may use alligator clips instead of soldering at this time. So I don’t want to commit to it yet. So what we have here is the positive coming down, here is the negative instead of jumping to this wire I will just connect it to the LED leg and stress effective and then on return to the negative side of the power supply make sure it is on. Now for the test, here is the magnet, I am going to bring the magnet by the switch it should close, it does the light comes on, when I remove the magnet, it goes off. So what will happen, I'll have it set so when the garage door is open, that magnet will slide up, get close enough to the switch, light comes on. So if I am in the kitchen I can look out and say “Hey!” you know I am getting ready to go to bed and I can see the garage door is open slightly and then push button and close it and then the switch opens up when the magnet moves away and the light is out.
