Equipment Needed to Make Rye Bread
My name is Brandon Sarkis on behalf of Expert Village. Today I'm going to show you how to make Rye bread. Alright, the things you are going to need for today's recipe as far as equipment goes, we're going to need first and foremost an oven. We're going to set it at 400 degrees but not yet, we're going to wait until we get a little further in. I'm going to use a mixer but you can also do this by hand. The reason I'm going to show you how to do it with a mixer is because a lot of people have mixers out there and don't really know the best way to do bread with them. I'm also going to show you the ways to avoid making common mistakes with a mixer. You're going to need a large bowl to let your dough rise in. You are going to need a knife to cut your loaves up, something nice and sharp. You're going to need a couple of towels so you don't make a mess and get your hands too dirty or have something to wipe them off on if you do. You're going to need a baking sheet to cook them on and you are also going to need a spatula and you're going to need a cutting board to shape them on. I prefer a wooden cutting board because the wooden cutting board will absorb some of the moisture and not force the moisture back onto the dough. So let's get started with this.
