Welcome to Expert Village. This is Kim Brown. In this segment we are going to be putting eyeliner on the eye and I usually choose between three different colors. I use a black liner, a taupe or a dark brown. My preference is normally dark brown, unless the bride… unless she chooses really that she really likes a black liner and that is what you most normally use. Brown is just a little bit softer. I feel like it just looks best on most eyes. That is always my first pick. So you want to start with a really sharp liner. If this is the liner that has just been used on anyone else, you always want to sharpen it first and that will give it a clean start. Go ahead and close your eyes. You want to pull it up just a little bit with your thumb on the brow and then I am going to start at the inside of the eye, right along the lash line and just make tiny little strokes along the lash line, and this is where we talked before. We want to get everything close to the lash line, so that you don’t end up with a white line you can see after you finish your makeup. Nice little strokes. Don’t pull on the eye; like if you just went straight across you might pull on the eye. You could always go back and add more and I like to get my line in there first, and then blend it, and see if I need to add anymore to it. Then I go in with my eyeliner brush, which is the angle brush with tight hard bristles. Just blend that out, we don’t want it to smudge so you want to make sure it is nice and blended. It is nice? If you going to do the lining underneath the eye, I would like to go no more than halfway past the middle of the eye. So if you go all the way in, it closes the eye down a little bit. So, if you just go halfway, then it keeps the eye open but it creates more of an effect and has them always look up so you are getting closer to the lash line. Just really finishes off the eye and then you want to go in with your brush and just soften it. For a little bit more dramatic look, you can line the inside of the eye and inside of the lash line. So to do that, I’m going to have you look up and away from me and pull just a little bit down and I just line the inside.
