How to Import Music Using Playstation 3

Hello my name is Tony Ramirez from Tampa Florida and on behalf of Expert Village these are the optional uses of a PlayStation 3. Not just playing video games, this is a lot cooler. Importing music into your PlayStation 3. This is fairly easy because there?s two major ways you can do this. Of course one is using an external drive just like I did with the video or a memory card which you save the music from your computer, transfer it onto your memory card then transfer it onto the hard drive of the PlayStation 3. Or you can just go ahead and pop in a CD, just like this one here. The information will come up if your setup wireless or if you have the Ethernet internet cable of course plugged in it will bring in the information. What you do is you go ahead and press your triangle which will give you your options and go down to set, excuse me, to select import. Go ahead and select import and it'll start importing it onto your hard drive of the PlayStation 3. Depending on how long the CD is, you know is how long it'll. I mean I'm almost up to two songs already in a few seconds. But we'll just let this go and I'll show you what happens afterwards. Once your importing is complete. You can go ahead and scroll down, go down, down, down. To the same exact CD, this one of course is Sean Kingston, go ahead and press it and there you go your songs are all imported into it's own specific folder. This is you know the easy way if you just want to back up all your CD's or you want to save them onto your hard drive so you can listen to them on your stereo or your TV however you have it set up. Like I said the other way to do it is using an external device just like this one here. I go ahead and click it and there?s a song that I've transferred from my hard drive on the computer. Same thing hit triangle go down to copy, press copy. And it'll send it over to your hard drive of the PlayStation 3. This of course is a lot quicker just because it's not ripping the CD itself. It's actually just transferring the files. So that one's done. I'll go back and back again. And this one will usually end up in some type of unknown if you don't have it titled. Of course I'll just go down to unknown, I've got a bunch of stuff. so I've just scrolled down to unknown and I've got a bunch of tracks in here but this is the one I just imported, so there's that one, let me see what else. Oh so one of the things to keep in mind are the types of formats that you can import into your PlayStation 3. And these are the Atrac, A T R A C. The AAC. MP3 and WAV. WMA compatibility is available but is available only through an update. So that's pretty much how to import music onto your PlayStation 3.
