Add Garlic & Fennel for Fennel Soup

Hi I'm Stephanie Barnett on behalf of Expert Village. I'm here to show you how to make fennel soup. So now that your onions and carrots have been cooking for a while you are going to add your fennel and your garlic. So I have all my chopped fennel and my garlic is at the bottom of the bowl. Make sure you get all of that scarped out. Garlic once it is chopped can be kind of sticky but just make sure you take your wooden spoon and you really get it out of the bowl so you have everything in there. Now we are going to stir this all up and again you want to let that just cook. This is why you are very glad you have a very heavy bottom pan because the heat is distributing evenly and it is not going to burn the ingredients on the bottom. So you want to stir it around and then let it sit for a few minutes and then stir it again and let it sit for a few minute. Then stir it again. But don't walk over and get on the phone and forget about it. You want to keep your attention on the pan.
