Supplies for Fennel Soup

Hi I'm Stephanie Barnett on behalf of Expert Village. I'm here to show you how to make fennel soup. Today we are going to talk about pans used for soup it is very important to have the correct pan for making soup. If you are going to make a small amount of soup you can use a medium size pan. Make sure it has a very heavy bottom and tall sides. If you are going to double a recipe of soup or make a very large container of soup you need a pan that is got a lot more depth but again you want a thick bottom. If your pans have a thin bottom then the soup is going to burn on the bottom. Make sure when you buy pans for making stock or soup or spaghetti sauce that those pans have a extra thick bottom. They should be heavy to lift up, heavy for there size, and that would well for making soup. Also don't use non stick pans for soup. Make sure they are stainless steel on the inside and that is especially important when you are using any tomato base product. If it is not stainless steel it can leach out the metal into the soup.
