So now we're going to go through and do a walking bass line through the first two measures. The only probably is you notice that instead of D flat major we have a D flat minor chord. So we have to play a one minor chord. So you might say, "Well Ryan, how would I play a one minor if I only know the major scale?" Well it's simple. Remember we learned our minor scale stars on the second degree, so if we start here we have our minor scale, right? Except this is an E flat minor scale, so we have to slide the root down to D flat and play the same scale. So now we're playing the D flat major pattern as if it were on B, but we we're starting on D flat still, so we have our D flat minor. So if you start your major scale pattern with your pinky or with your pointer finger, just start it with your ring finger instead, or your index finger and you'll have your D flat minor scale.
