Playing the 1st Note in a G Flat Flute Scale

The first note of the G flat major scale is G flat. This is called first note 1 it is also called the tonic or the root of the chord since it is the first one. Let's take a look at G flat on this staff. We have G flat. How to play G flat on the flute let us look at the flute fingering chart. G flat is played with the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and thumb key of the flute on the left hand. The 4th finger and the pinkie key in the right hand. This is how it sounds. Let's review the fingering on the flute 1st, 2nd, 3rd, thumb and on the left hand 4th and pinkie on the right hand. This fingering is also the same fingering that is used to play of G flat a octave higher when you end the scale. This fingering for G flat will be used for the 1st note and for G flat at the end of the scale as well.
