How to Play a G Flat Major Scale

The scale that we would be looking at today is the G flat major scale. Let's take a look at the staff to find the note of the G flat major scale. We start on G flat, we move up a whole step in the pattern to the 2nd note A flat. Another whole step to B flat, up a half step to C flat. Up another whole step to D flat, up another whole step to E flat and up another whole step to F. This should be C flat. In this scale we have the key signature which includes B flat, E flat, A flat, D flat, G flat and C flat. All of these notes are called flat and called accidentals. This changes a pitch down a half step from the natural sound of the name of the note. So it can fit the whole and half step pattern of the major scale. Without the alterations or making the notes flat the G flat major scale will not be able to fit the pattern of the major scale. Let's take a look on how this sounds. The G flat major scale.
