The rainforest can frequently reduce itself to what we call a seasonal forest and the thing is that most people when you talk to them about jungles automatically assume hot, dry and wet. This is not true. There are a number of jungle plants throughout the world that grow in what we call seasonal forests. And they have 6 months of rain you can't believe and 6 months where it's so dry that if you go through the forest, you can't find water. Now what does this mean? It means that the plants that grow in this environment need to be treated a certain way. And when you grow them in a green house or a windowsill, it's sometimes very difficult to forget. The plant needs 4-6 months of dry weather if it's going to flower. And then sometimes then as soon as we get moisture and warmth, it bursts into flower.
