The 7th note of the E flat major scale is the note D. Let's look at it on the staff. To play a D on the flute we use the 2nd, 3rd and the thumb keys of the left hand and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd fingers on the right hand. This is how it sounds. To end out scale we end on the last scale E flat which we will learn. So since it is a octave higher there is a slightly different fingerings from before. This would bring us to the conclusion of our scale. In E flat you play the 2nd, 3rd fingers on the left hand, the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and pinkie on the right hand. Let's review D and then E flat one more time. To play D play the 2nd, 3rd, thumb of the left and 1st, 2nd, 3rd of the right hand. To finish the scale to go to E flat we simply add the pinkie key. Let's go over the scale from the beginning. E flat to F whole step. F to G whole step. G to A flat half step. A flat to B flat whole step. B flat to C whole step. C to D our final note which is a whole step is the last note.
