How to Repair Vocal Chords After Performances

Hi! I am Cass Naumann and on behalf of expertvillage.com discussing exercising your voice. In this segment I am going to talk to you about the end of your performance or if you are feeling ill at all. Just like before you are going to perform, so you want to drink one liquid that is lukewarm to very warm, not quite hot that it is going to be scorching, hot tea is excellent, even coffee is fine. It is going to be keeping you very hydrated, smooth, just pamper your voice. If it is chilly outside, you definitely want to wear a scarf to keep the vocal chords warm. If you are feeling ill at all you definitely want to consult a doctor and make sure you don’t have any vocal nodes, make sure your lymph glands are not swollen, you feel a lot of constrictions when you are singing you want to use your neck muscles because you are not feeling well. So your posture is going to be really important, drinking nice herbal teas and even licorice root will help keep your vocal chords smooth and warm. You can also squeeze a little lemon and honey into some tea and that will also help to disinfect and keep your vocal chords moist. So lots of warm foods, keep a scarf around the neck, to consult your doctor if you are feeling really ill.
