Moisturizers & Makeup Tips

Hi! I’m Yvette Parrish. Thanks for joining me at Expert Village. Today, I’m going to show you how to apply makeup properly, professionally, and the use of brushes. Anna Lucy is a little bit dry today, so I am choosing a moisturizer that is nourishing. And I am going to apply it, and you can kind of see it a little bit, and this will make the foundation that we are going to put on top of it be very smooth. If the skin is too dry or too oily and you are trying to put a foundation on top of it, it’s not going to look smooth, it’s going to look kind of muddy. You will wonder why your makeup is not going on right, and that is because you have to do a pretty foundation. Check the eyebrows, check the skin type, make sure you are putting on the proper moisturizer for that skin, and I am just using a very little. I use maybe about the size of a nickel for her face, and if you need more you can use more, but I just want to give a nice layer. This moisturizer in particular I am able to go around the eyes with it, some moisturizers make sure that you check, some you are not able to put around your eyes, and you will have to use a separate eye cream. So I am just going to make sure, and I keep on putting it in until her skin is all done drinking it up. I would recommend some sun protection, if you are going to get a moisturizer it really would be very beneficial. If you have a SPF of at least a 15 or higher, the higher the better. If you can get a 30, that would be great, and the SPF 15 is really only protecting you from the sun for 15 minutes. If you get an SPF 30, it is protecting you in the sun for 30 minutes, so if you are very sensitive to the sun then you need a higher SPF.
