Barbed Lightning Red Cards in Magic: the Gathering

Hi, this is Mike Lopez with Expert Village, and today we'll be discussing the red Magic color. Here we have Barbed Lightening, the direct damage card from the red block. It's two and a red. It's two and a red. Barbed Lightening, once again, it's a cool effect. You deal three damage to target creature or player. Once again you're wondering to yourself, why would you have this? Because Incinerate is one and a red and you get three damage. Well, here is why: because a, you need as much direct damage in red decks as you possibly can, but it also has another ability down here. This ability is Entwine which means for another two, which means, count them, four colorless and a red. Instead of dealing damage to a three damage to a creature or a player you do both. Which means you deal damage to the creature and to the player. So for five you're dealing six damage, which means, for five Manna you actually got a damage dealt for free.
