Hi! This is Mike on behalf of expertvillage.com. For more information about bicycle maintenance please visit Prairie Path Cycles in Winfield, Illinois or visit our website at www.prairiepathcycles.com. In this clip I’m going to be showing you how to properly lube your chain and to do this you’re going to need the dry lube I was telling you about and also a spare rag or an old shirt or something like that that you can use to wipe up the chain. What you are going to want to do is put the rag underneath the chain and spray a little bit of the lube on along side-to-side and then just wiping off the excess lube and you can kind of spin the cranks and go around that way, it gets the whole chain and then you can put lube on a couple of times throughout this process to make sure you get every link in the chain. Make sure it’s all nice and good and the reason why you would want to use this method when applying lube to your chain is because it lubes it and cleans it at the same time that is why you would want to do this at least once a week or every other week depending upon how often you ride your bike and that’s how you properly lube your chain.
very useful - thanks!
