CASEY CORMIER: Okay, so hammer-ons and pull-offs are considered note manipulations. We have another note manipulation that works well on bass, very well actually, and it's called the slide. So, you might have actually already encountered this. I mean, if you've been going through these lessons you might have seen me do it, you might have just kind of figured it out for yourself too but importantly it's the technique involved. So, sliding we want to keep our hand and have it move in the same position. So then we play G on the E string. Without picking again, you want to slide and land on the A. It's important that we aim and know where to stop, using our thumb to move along here to release pressure and then regain it when we hit A. We can do the same thing with any finger under any string from any location, also we can slide backwards, but it's the same concept so try sliding around like that.
