CASEY CORMIER: Hi. So earlier on when we were discussing Jazz and Latin Jazz we did mention Afro-Cuban. Afro-Cuban style is basically a mixture of funk and Jazz, it has some elements of each. In the Afro-Cuban rhythm, it's very involved in a funk type of way as for the Afro part, but then the Cuban part is with certain Latin rhythms that we're using, and so it's a combination sound. So, let's learn a very popular Afro-Cuban line and just kind of notice what the rhythms are. One, two, three, four [PLAYS AFRO-CUBAN BASS LINE]. Now, you have different ways of fingering this, but basically what you're doing is you're outlining an E flat 7 by playing the first degree.
