Hi! This is Mike on behalf of expertvillage.com. For more information about bicycle maintenance please visit Prairie Path Cycles in Winfield, Illinois or visit our website at www.prairiepathcycles.com. In this clip I’m going to be showing you how to install new grips on your bicycle. Now if you still have the old ones on, a good way to take those off would be to either you use a razor blade or just some scissors to cut them off unless you are planning on using them then you may want to try to put some water something in there so they slide off. But once you do have the old ones off and you are ready to install the new ones you will notice that if you just try to put them on with nothing inside the grip it is going to be very hard to put them on. So a good technique to do is spray a little hair spray inside each of the grips. Just give it a couple of squirt and when you do that the grips will slide on nice and easy and it would not give you a hard time at all. But you do want to make sure you wait until the grips are dry and until you ride your bike because if you ride them when they are wet you can see here they still move around and it could cause you to crash and have an accident and that is how you install grips on your bike.
