How to Fix a Flat Bicycle Tire

In this clip I’m going to showing you how to fix a flat and the tool you are going to need to do this is a pair of tires levers. Usually they come in packs of three and is very useful when taking the tire off. Now don’t ever try to use anything like a screwdriver or anything with a sharp point because when you are putting your tube back in you have more likely of a chance to pop the tube. So what you are going to do is take one of your tire levers and first let all the air out of your tire. Just in case if there is still a little bit of air left in it from the flat. Once you have all the air out you are going to want to take a part of your tire and lift it up until you can see the wire bead around your tire. Once you see that you stick your lever underneath it and like that and then once you have that set you can just pull tire lever and then the bead of your tire comes out. Once you do that you can take your tube out. So once you got the old tube out of the tire what you are going to want to do is search for what caused the flat. If you see a piece of glass or something in your tire make sure that you pull that out before you put the new tube in and if you cannot find anything you may want to run your fingers along the inside of your tire but be careful because if there is a thorn or a piece of glass in there you could get cut. So that is why we will just go real slow just checking the inside of the tire, making sure nothing is in there. You can also check the old tube to see if you can see where the hole happened and then depending upon whether you have a patch kit or a new tube you can fix that and then re-insert it back into the tire.
