The 7th note in the F major scale is E. E is located right here in the staff. To play a E on the flute let's look at our fingering chart. E is played with 1,2,3 and thumb in the left hand and 1,2, and pinkie in the right hand. Let's review the fingers on the flute. You have 1,2,3, and thumb in the left hand. 1,2 and pinkie in the right hand. When you are practicing on the flute, going from D to E is somewhat of an easy switch you have D and going to E. It is important to remember these fingers because it is these types of switches that switch the pinkie and the 1st key down which makes it changeling to play on the flute. Going back to the beginning of our scale we have F to G whole step. G to A whole step. A to B flat halt step. B flat to C whole step. C to D whole step and our last note D to E is a whole step. Let's listen. E is the new note.
