How to Play the 4th Note in a D Major Flute Scale

The 4th note of the D major scale is G. Let's look at G on the staff. G is the 4th note. G is natural from F sharp which makes it fit the half step pattern of the major scale. We see from F sharp to G is only a half step. Let's look at G on the flute. G is fingered with the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, thumb key on the left hand and the pinkie key in the right hand. This is how it sounds. Let's review the fingerings on the flute 1st, 2nd, 3rd, thumb key in the left hand and the pinkie key on the right hand. Let's review our scale from the beginning D to E whole step. E to F sharp whole step. F sharp to G half step. You can notice that this half step is easy to remember in the fingerings on the flute as well because you pick up one note to go up one half step. Let's play. G is the 4th note.
