There are many different sounds that can come from a C major scale which make up music. In the C major scale in any major scale different chords can be comprised. Chords are any groups of 3 notes that are played together from the scale. Let's start from the 1st chord, the 1 chord. The 1 chord is made up of the 1, the first note in the C major scale. Let's look here is the note C, this is 1. The next note in the chord is the 3rd or the 3rd note in the scale in this case it is E. The next note in a chord is G this is the 5th note of the scale 1,3, and 5 outlines a major chord in C major. This is because a C major chord has a major chord out the bottom which is 4 half steps and then a minor 3rd up at the top which is 3 half steps. If we were to break it down and look at the piano we have C1, there is one half step, 2 half steps, 3 half steps, and 4 half steps that is the bottom major 3rd. At the top we have E to F 1 half step, 2 half steps, 3 half steps that is a minor chord. A minor triad.
