The 4th note of the B major scale is E. Let's look at E on the staff we have E and E. You can notice that E is natural which is different from some of the other pitches in this scale. It is natural because it does not have to be sharpened or raised it fits a half step above D sharp. So E natural would make it a half step. Let's look at E on the flute it is played with the 1st, 2nd 3rd, and thumb key in the left hand. It is played with the 1st, 2nd, and pinkie key of the right hand. This is how it sounds. Let's review the fingerings on the flute 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and thumb in the left hand, 1st, 2nd and pinkie in the right hand. Let's start to the scale from the beginning we have B to C sharp whole step. C sharp to D sharp whole step and D sharp to E half step. Notice it is a little tricky to move around from these keys so pay close attention when practicing this scale to moving from D sharp to E. Here is how it sounds. E is the 4th note.
