Today I will be talking about how to play a B major scale on the flute. I will first talk about what a major scale is. A group of 7 different pitches that fit a pattern of whole and half steps from the 12 available pitches of even temperament and western music. I will talk about/I will play example of this scale. I will talk about how it is played on the flute going over the fingering for each of the notes. I will talk about the scale in different octaves. I will also be discussing different chords that come out the major scale the major chords and also what a minor chord is. I will be playing some examples in the key of B major so you can hear the sound. By the end of this lesson you should be able to understand B major, the key it is, how to play the scale on the flute and be ready to play it in the key of B major. Here is how B major sounds.
