How to Play the 7th Note in an A Major Flute Scale

The 7th note of the A major scale is G sharp. Let's look at G sharp in the staff this is G sharped by the key signature G sharp. On the flute G sharp is fingered with the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, pinkie and thumb in the left hand and only the pinkie key in the right hand. This is how it sounds. Let's review the fingerings on the flute you have the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, pinkie, thumb of the left hand just the pinkie in the right hand. Let's review our scale from the beginning A to B whole step, B to C sharp whole step, C sharp to D half step, D to E whole step, E to F sharp whole step, F sharp to G sharp whole step. This is how it sounds. G sharp was our last note. Going on to finish this scale we move up a half step to play A which is the root one more time let's listen. That is our A major scale.
