What is an A Major Scale?

I would first talk about what a major scale is. A major scale is a group of 7 different pitches from the 12 pitches in even temperament found in western music. These pitches are put together in a pattern of whole and half steps that fit a pattern of a major scale. Let's look at this pattern of whole and half steps. Here is a pattern between the 1st and 2nd note there is a whole step. 2nd and 3rd there whole step. 3rd and 4th half step. 4th and 5th whole step. 5th and 6th whole step. 6th and 7th whole step and 7th back to the 1st or the original note is a half step. Let's get a idea of what whole and half steps are by breaking it down. Whole and half steps are intervals that are found in even temperament . We are learning A a half step above this is a note with non in between. This is a half step it is the distance between 2 notes. You have a whole step which is made up of 2 half steps that is a whole step. This is a distance between 2 notes also known as a interval. Let's go back and look at the major scale pattern for in whole and half steps between the 1st and 2nd note whole step. 2nd and 3rd whole step. 3rd and 4th half step. 4th and 5th whole step. 5th and 6th whole step. 6th and 7th whole step. 7th back to the beginning or the 8th a half step. This is the major scale pattern.
