Today I will talk about how to play a A major scale on the flute. I will be talking about what a major scale is a collection of 7 different pitches from the 12 pitches of western music. I will talk about how they are put together in a whole and half step pattern to form a major scale. I will talk about this pattern and how it relates to the A major scale. I will go over all the notes that are in the A major scale and show how to finger them and play them on the flute. I will also talk about different chords and arpeggios that come out of the A major scale in order to go through it more smoothly. I will also play some examples in the key of A major so that by the end of this lesson you would be familiar with all the notes in the scale and how to play recognize the key signature and have fun playing in a major.
