Hello! I’m Ross on behalf of expertvillage.com. Let’s talk about consumer camcorders. Focusing, you may want to do it manually if you’re shooting your son or daughter at an event or people are walking in front of you let’s say it is a sporting event or they’re playing baseball. You don’t want the focus to go in and out. So you want switch into manual focus. On this camera you simply have a button here, you push it and it goes into manual and then you can adjust the focus with the thumb wheel here but or what you can do which is a little more simple push this button into auto and make sure you focus on the subject you want and turn it off. If you need to adjust it again just push it in momentarily and then turn it off again that way when someone walks by it wouldn’t take time to adjust in and out of focus.
