Writing "Lower" in Chinese Characters

ESTHER-XIAOHUA LIU: This word is di. Di. Di, the first tone. Di means "lower" or "short," two meanings. And this word has two parts. The part on the left is written in this way. This way, this part is also a word, "ren" means "a person" but we write here together another part we write in this way a little bit different, and the part on the right is written in this way "di." So while we say [SPEAKING IN CHINESE] means "to lower one's head."
