Handling & Holding Syrian or Golden Hamsters

Hi! My name is Sarah. I work at Extra Care Animal Hospital; I am one of the technicians there. I am here at Petland in Pembroke Pines today to tell you a little bit about hamster care on behalf of Expert Village.com. Hamsters handled frequently from a young age remain docile and seldom bite. To pick up your hamster, you should cup both hands gently around your hamster and pull him or her to your body. Keep in mind that even a docile hamster, if it feels threatened or surprised, may bite, so you should always make your best effort to make your hamster feel safe and approach your hamster slowly, so that it knows you are going to be picking it up.
