Feeding & Watering Syrian or Golden Hamsters: Part 2

Hi! My name is Sarah. I work at Extra Care Animal Hospital. I am one of the technicians there. I am here at Petland in Pembroke Pines today to tell you a little bit about hamster care on behalf of Expert Village.com. Another food item that you can also offer your hamster that is very healthy for them is a little timothy hay each day. Other supplements that I can include are fresh fruits and vegetables, but these two should be fed in moderation. Your hamster should have food available at all times. Hamsters eat approximately 12 grams of food a day; most of this will be at night so you will not see them eating all the time. They do tend to take and store it away in their different hiding places, so it may seem that they are consuming a lot more food than they actually are. Water for your hamster can be easily provided in a separate bottle such as this one. Any bottles or bowls available for your hamster should be cleaned on a daily basis. They should be cleaned with hot soapy water or run through the dishwasher. If you would like any more information about the animal hospital that I work at, you can go to www.extracareanimal hospital.net, and if you would like anymore information about Petland in Pembroke Pines, you can go to www.petland.com.
