Hi, I'm Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip, we'll be drilling our hole for our grommet. To drill our hole, I'm going to be using this 2 1/2" hole drill bit. Now since the thickness of our table is a little bit thicker than our bit itself, we are going to have to drill this in a couple of different steps. First we are going to put our center drill bit on our center, mark our hole, and we are going to start drilling down about an 1 1/2". Next we are going to need to take a chisel and break away some of the top so that we can finish drilling all the way through. As you can see, we've got through about the first 2 layers of our top and we need to now finish drilling through our last layer. Once finished we can pull the rest of that piece out. Now we have a hole that gives us access to the hollow leg. If we stick that grommet in place, it makes it look pretty nice.
