Making Scrap Top for a Computer Desk

Hi, I'm Jon on behalf of Expert Village in this video clip we'll be making our scrap top. So far on my project I have my birch top and I also have my nice finished oak top. Now between these two I'm going to be putting some strips of just scrap, 3/4" plywood just to make it a little bit more stronger. Once I gathered a bunch of scrap pieces I'm going to go ahead and set them over my oak piece just to make sure that they will completely cover the top. That is just going to kind of show me that I have plenty of wood to make that scrap wood top. Next I need to size all of my pieces (cutting) once I get all of my pieces sized correctly we can go ahead and fit those pieces together. Any of these seams are going to end up being covered up so it doesn't really matter how it looks as long as it is the exact same size of our pieces.
