Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip, we'll be talking about types of materials. The first type of material that we are going to be using is a three quarter inch oak veneer plywood. Now this is a really thin piece of oak that is put on top of some plywood sheets to make it look like one really large oak board. The next material that I'm going to be using is a cabinetry grade birch, which is also three quarters on an inch thick. Now both of our three quarter inch materials are going to be used for our desktop. The birch doesn't look like as good but that's going to go as our second layer on the top and nobody is going to see it. We are also going to be using a solid oak board. Now the one that I purchased was fifteens-sixteens inch thick by about twelve foot in length. I got a pretty wide board so this should be able to cover my legs and my trim and anything else I might need it for. Some other materials I am going to be using on this project are a keyboard drawer slide which will mount underneath our tabletop. I have some medal L brackets to help pull the top on. I have a grommet for a computer table and this is going to let us run our cords and it's going to look real nice. Then I have this electrical box that I'm going to be putting on the legs so that when we run our cords it gives it a nice finished look.
