Layer Pecan Pumpkin Pie

This is Mary Murphy and you are watching Expert Village. Now lets remove our chilled prepared pie crust out of the fridge and we would layer the pumpkin and the pecan together and get it ready for the oven. So we have our chilled pie crust and we are going to put our pumpkin filling into it first and it probably should take most of it. There is your pumpkin filling and now we would put the pecan filling on top of it carefully. Then I like decorating just a little bit on the top of the pecan pie with some of the pecan halves. It just makes the whole pie look a lot nicer and you can pick and choose and get the nicely shaped whole pecans. Now depending on how your oven bakes you might need this little tool or I find that I like to use see how nice that looks I like to put this little crust protector right over my crust. Now it is ready to go into the oven.
