RYAN LARSON: So, now we've gone through our whole A section into the bass section on the B section and we had to shift our scale up to remember we said it's shifted to A flat major. Now, the most obvious thing to notice when the song shifts is when you go through and you're analyzing it and you see a lot of flats and a lot of different things coming out of it, and you can kinda tell something's wrong and it's something like you'll get used to in time. But just remember we've taken our F major scale [PLAYS F MAJOR SCALE] and instead of starting here, now we're starting here on the A flat, right? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. So, E flat is our flat 3. So, we have our new scale. Even though we don't have all four strings with it, that's all right, we have enough to work with. So, you really want to get that under your fingers so I'm going to walk through the first A [PLAYS WALKING BASS PATTERN] then remember we shifted down to the D flat [PLAYS WALKING BASS PATTERN]. Now, you want to shift to your A flat [PLAYS WALKING BASS PATTERN], E flat minor, E flat 7, A flat. So again, we just took the same major scale pattern that we learned on the 3rd string and we moved it up to the 2nd string. So, really get that pattern under your fingers and it is gold.
