Applying Liquid Eyeliner on the Top Eyelid

Hi! I am Yvette Parrish. Thanks for joining me at Expert Village. Today I am going to show you how to apply the eyeliner, the different styles of eyeliner and how to get that pretty smoky look. The liquid liners have a different kind of wand. They have some that are sponge tipped, there are some that are made out of brushes, brush bristles. This one kind of is a sponge tip. This is one of my favorite eyeliners, and I am going to apply…here you hold the base… thank you ma’am…and I am going to apply it very close to her lashes. And I am lifting up her eye, see I am kind of lifting it up ever so gently, so that way I can get under there. I want to be able to get as close to her lash line as possible…okay, open…and what that does—eyeliner is really supposed to make your eyelashes look thicker. So that is what I am trying to do; I am really basing doing this so that way her lashes will look even more fabulous. Now I am going to apply a little bit at the corner. Remember liquid liner always looks a little shiny. So you know that, that it is always going to be a little bit more drama anytime you use a liquid liner. And I am going to lift up ever so gently. You can use pencil. Pencil is always good, but pencil will not be as much drama. So really it depends… since we are doing a dramatic look, we can go with the liquid. You can wet a black eye shadow and dip your brush in; and you can apply it that way like we did the other model.
