Hi, I’m Mike Lopez with Expert Village and today we’ll be discussing the tabletop RPG Heroscape. Now we’re going to go over drafting an army. Now you’re going to go over to where you want to play, whether it be your house, a friend’s house or a local game store and once you get there you’re going to, you and the other players are going to decide on army points. Now some people play three, five hundred, fifteen hundred, based on how long they want the game to be, how big the battlefield is and a number of other factors including castles, fortifications and things of this nature. Now see, we have here, we have Spartacus, his cost is two hundred points. He’s a single character, he’s a unique hero, he has five lives, move of five, range of one, attack of six, defense of four. He also has special abilities. Now this is one of the things you want to look at when trying to select an army. Over here you have a squad, it’s a common squad, which means you can have as many of them as you want, they only cost sixty-five points. However their life’s only one, their movement is the same, their range is longer, but their attack is only two and their defense is only three, hence wise they are cheaper than Spartacus. Now in some instances, you will draft cards from selections, especially if you and your opponent are playing the same army or army type in which case you will just select cards at random and that will be your army up to a certain amount of points. Now more experienced players will generally build their own army, and play with a pre-made army that they built, either at home or built from their own collection to go into battle with, with the knowledge that they have so many points. There are also game scenarios that are in the book that you can carry out and it tells you what your army is and what the opponents army is and you can decide who wants to play either side and usually the flip of a coin or the roll of a twenty-sided dice and that is how drafting an army selection goes.
