Hi, this is Joe Wiles with the Rock and Roll conservatory here for Expert Village. We just talked about the first two versions of an A chord. In this segment we're going to talk about the next two. Where we left off was on the second fret with a G chord form. Well, applying the CAGED rules we're going to fret the highest, we're going to barre the highest fret that we're currently fretting. In this case it's the fifth fret. Go ahead and bar that. Then we're going to play the next chord form in the CAGED sequence. After G, which is where we just were is the chord form E. CAGE. We'll play an E chord form here, and this is the third version of an A chord. The next chord form we'll use applying the rules of the CAGED method. The highest fret right now that we're currently fretting is the seventh fret. Go ahead and barre that and play the next chord form in the sequence. You'll find that it's D. Now remember any time we do a D chord form, we don't actually have to barre because we only play from the D string up. We only have to fret the root here. In the next segment we're going to talk about the last version of an A chord. I'll see you there.
