Hi, my name is Joe Wiles with the Rock and Roll Conservatory, on behalf of Expert Village. We're going to talk about the first two versions of a "C" major chord. The first one we already know. It's the open position. It's a "C" chord here, ok? Now the next version of a "C" chord, we're going to apply the CAGED rules. The first rule, if you recall, we're going to go to the next chord form after "C". Now the CAGED method is "C", "A", "G", "E", "D", so the next chord form we'll use is "A". The second rule is that we bar the fret/the highest fret that we're currently fretting, in this case is the third fret. Bar it, play the "A" form, and we have the next version of a "C" chord. Together, they sound like this... Those are both a "C" major chord. The first is using a "C" chord form; the second is using an "A" chord form as you can see. In the next segment, we're going to talk about the next two versions of a "C" chord. I'll see you there.
