Hi, my name is Joe Wiles with the Rock and Roll Conservatory. On behalf of expert village I'm going to teach you how to play your A chord without your index finger. It's really important. This is how you do it. The first step, freeing your index finger. You're going to use your middle finger on the second fret of the D string. You're going to use your ring finger on the second fret of the G string and your pinky on the second fret of the B string. Squish them all together and it should sound like this. Now again, the reason you want to free up your index finger is so you can use this not only as A chord, but we'll also call it an A chord form that we can barre up the neck somewhere using our index finger. For instance, if we move this A form up two frets. One, two, and barred the first fret, excuse me, if you barred the second fret we'd be using the A chord form, but we're not playing an A chord anymore. We'll talk about that later. In the next segment we're going to talk about playing your G chord without your index finger. I'll see you there.
