Pt 3: Vocal Exercises for Voice Breaks

JAMES MENY: What we eventually want to do is abandon any high larynx or low larynx exercise and get him comfortable with singing in a neutral sound. And remember our neutral vowel or neutral sound vowel we're using is uh as in good or look. So let's try a neutral sound and let's do the word mu as in mushy, okay? MAN: Mu, mu, mu, mu, mu, mu, mu, mu, mu, mu, mu, mu, mu. JAMES MENY: Good. Now we'll going to even do it more relaxed and it should stay for early neutral. You might see a little slight movement going up and down but it's not to the extremes of being pressed all the way down or pulled all the way up. Again, mu as in mushy. MAN: Mu, mu, mu, mu, mu, mu, mu, mu, mu, mu, mu, mu, mu. JAMES MENY: Good.
