LES MCGEHEE: We'll close with one example on this segment. Let's plan a party real quick. Who we're going to throw a party for? JOE PARSONS: We're going to throw a party for my sister-in-law. LES MCGEHEE: Very good and we're going to use "yes and" for each comment we add to it. I suggest we throw a party for your sister-in-law. JOE PARSONS: Yes and I'll get the balloons from a guy I know who works at the party store. LES MCGEHEE: Yes, and we'll fill some of them with helium and some of them with regular air, so that when we let 'em go, some go up and some go down, it'll be a real cool surprise. JOE PARSONS: Yes, and we'll stay with the sandwich theme and serve Oreos and grilled cheese sandwiches and people can dress as sandwiches. LES MCGEHEE: Yes, and we'll bring in Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson to sing "Ebony and Ivory" to follow the juxtaposition theme of the sandwiches. JOE PARSONS: Yes and I have a record player and a full record collection with just that record. We could play it all night long. LES MCGEHEE: Yes and I've got Michael Jackson's number on my cell phone. JOE PARSONS: Yes. LES MCGEHEE: Okay, well, I don't really have a cell phone. But there's an example of "yes and." How much can you create quickly by taking each other's ideas and helping them move forward. We'll take a look at some other specific basic improv tools for you in just a minute in the next clip.
