How to Fire Up a Metal Forge

On behalf of Expert Village I am Terry and I am here today to show you the workings of a forge. The way we fire this forge up is we turn on the valve down here on the tank. You throw in...We light a piece of newspaper and throw it in and then turn the valve on. It will take about ten minutes for it to come up to temperature to about three-thousand degrees. Okay, we've let our forge heat up to about three-thousand degrees. It's been running for about eight minutes now. We let it go the full ten minutes and it should reach temperatures of about thirty-five hundred. But we're right about where we need to be. As you can see, the metal is blowing so we're just about there. Now that I've got my metal at about three-thousand degrees, its right about where I can work it.
