Playing Minor 2-5 Bass Scales in G Flat (Gb)

RYAN LARSON: Now, we have our minor 2-5 in G flat. So if we have our 1 here. Remember how we say we use 6 compositionally? So there's a minor 2-5 which goes into the 6, which is a half-diminished chord. So if our 6 is D flat minor and we have a F half-diminished to a B flat altered, and you'll see that notated. It will be a circle with a slash through it for the half-diminished and the altered will say ALT. So we can do--we're going to walk from 1-2-5 to our minor, 1-2-5 down to 6, 1-2-5-6. So it's just another 2-5 lick, but now it leads into your vi minor. And it works great if you start on your 1: i minor, 2-5--1-6-2-5 into 1, minor 2-5, 2-5 into 1, minor, major. So that's your minor 2-5 and your major 2-5 right next to each other in G flat on the bass.
